Who we are
Counseling is more than just talking – it’s a collaborative journey toward healing, growth, and wholeness. Our mission is to provide whole-person care that addresses the heart, mind, body, and spirit. We come alongside you with professional guidance and genuine care, empowering you to live a more authentic, connected life.

Our Values:
-
Our therapy is informed by our Christian faith, with truth and love at the core of everything we do. This means we approach clients with deep compassion, honesty, and respect. We do not preach or push religion – rather, we gently integrate spirituality for those who find it helpful. Every individual is welcomed, whether or not faith is a part of your life.
-
We consider the whole person in therapy – emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual. Joy’s background in physical therapy and addiction counseling gives her a unique understanding of how our bodies and minds are connected. We use an eclectic approach tailored to you, because healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. From cognitive techniques to mindfulness practices, from lifestyle habits to spiritual exploration, we’ll address the aspects of wellness that matter to you.
-
Healing happens best in a caring relationship. We strive to create a safe environment where you feel heard and accepted. We meet you where you’re at – with empathy, humor when appropriate, and unconditional positive regard. We value meaningful conversations and genuine connection, so you can explore solutions in a space that feels like “sacred ground” for your story.
-
Your comfort and access to care are priorities. We offer sessions in a tranquil, spa-like office setting or via online telehealth, so you can choose what’s most convenient. Therapy at Joy, Body & Soul is also designed to be affordable: our session fees range from $140 to $225 for individuals (depending on which therapist you see) and $250 for couples/families.
We provide insurance receipts (superbills) to help you get reimbursement if you have out-of-network benefits. We truly want therapy to be within reach – if finances are a concern, please let us know. We have options and will work with you because we want therapy to be affordable for those seeking help.

We are a faith-informed practice. That means our work is shaped by a belief in the value of relationships, redemption, and whole-person healing. We respect each client’s background and will only bring spirituality into the room if it’s something you want to include.
-
Not at all. We welcome people of all backgrounds and beliefs. While our values are rooted in faith, our therapy is grounded in professional, evidence-based practices. You are safe and respected here, no matter what you believe.
-
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a proven therapy technique that helps people process trauma and distressing memories. It’s especially effective for PTSD, anxiety, and past emotional wounds. Joy is EMDR-certified and can explain whether it may be helpful in your care.
