Frequently asked questions.
What types of therapy do you offer?
We offer individual counseling, couples therapy, and family therapy. Our approach is eclectic, which means we tailor sessions to your needs using modalities like talk therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, psychoeducation, somatic work, and—when appropriate—prayer.
Are you a Christian therapy practice?
We are a faith-informed practice. That means our work is shaped by a belief in the value of relationships, redemption, and whole-person healing. We respect each client’s background and will only bring spirituality into the room if it’s something you want to include.
Do I have to be a Christian to come to JOY, BODY & SOUL?
Not at all. We welcome people of all backgrounds and beliefs. While our values are rooted in faith, our therapy is grounded in professional, evidence-based practices. You are safe and respected here, no matter what you believe.
What is EMDR?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a proven therapy technique that helps people process trauma and distressing memories. It’s especially effective for PTSD, anxiety, and past emotional wounds. Joy is EMDR-certified and can explain whether it may be helpful in your care.
How much does therapy cost?
Session fees range from $140 to $225 for individual therapy, and $250 for couples or family sessions. Rates vary depending on the provider and the type of service. During your consultation, we’ll talk through pricing and help you find the best fit for your needs and goals.
Do you take insurance?
We are currently an out-of-network provider, which means we do not bill insurance directly. However, we can provide a superbill upon request for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Many clients choose to pay privately to maintain privacy and flexibility.
